Lies Within

What do you think of when you think about being utterly alone? I'm sure many people have many different thoughts and answers, everyone's varying across the board. To me, being alone is a terrible thing, so a negative picture appears. I see someone sitting in the corner of a pitch black room. They're stuck and bugs and cobwebs surround them. They are utterly alone, with no way of escape!

This is a dramatic picture, yes, but I guess it shows my fear and feelings towards the state of being. So, I was thinking about this picture in my head the other day. I have never been alone like the picture in my head; I'm sure not many of us have been locked away like that, and yet, so many of us are lonely each day. Many of us are surrounded by people every day and yet still have a sense of being alone. Not physically, but within ourselves. To a lot of us, that mental picture I had is dead on for us within ourselves. We feel we are sitting on the ground in a dark room with our disgusting problems and secrets hanging in our faces. And then, no matter our struggles, we are stuck within ourselves. I wonder how many people we pass in the street daily that are just as alone and locked up as us. We don't realize that we all are so alike and we could invite others in to our dungeon. We could open the door and shed light on our troubles and share... An then, we would no longer be alone in these disgusting places...

But maybe you're like me and you've been searching for the door... but all the walls look identical.

  1. What you don't address Taylor, is that as a Christian, you are never alone. The Holy Spirit dwells within us. We are IN Christ and Christ is IN us. Even when it seems like no one is there, God is there, for He promises NEVER to leave us nor forsake us! Lets cling to those truths!

And I'm sorry you feel this way... Sorry that you feel alone around me.
